FOH Redbook privacy policy
Version 1.0 · Effective September 23, 2026
FOH Redbook is a local-first app for church front-of-house and production teams. This policy covers the iPhone and iPad app. Our website privacy policy covers visits to mountaincrestsoftware.com and email correspondence with us.
Information stored in the app
People using FOH Redbook can enter runbooks, steps, notes, equipment details, people's names, microphone assignments, observations, and review notes. They can also add photos to runbook steps and create named local users with roles and permissions. The app stores this information on the device for its operating features.
Password and recovery verifiers are stored in the device's Keychain. The app does not store recoverable passwords in its ordinary backup files.
Camera and photos
You can choose a photo through Apple's photo picker or use the camera to add an image to a runbook step. The app uses the selected image for that step. Camera access is requested only when you choose to take a photo.
Data sent from the app
The current app does not require a Mountain Crest account, a Mountain Crest server, CloudKit sync, or a third-party advertising or analytics service. It is designed to work offline. Mountain Crest does not receive the content you store in the app merely because you use it.
If you email support or choose to send us information, we receive what you send and handle that correspondence as described in our website privacy policy. Please do not send passwords, recovery information, or sensitive church records in a support request.
Backups and sharing
You can create a recovery backup and choose where to save or share it using the system share options. A backup can contain saved runbooks and photos, equipment, people and assignments, named-user details and roles, and submitted recommendations. It does not include passwords, recovery verifiers, active runs, or temporary drafts.
The .fohbackup file is readable data, not an encrypted archive. Its checksum helps detect corruption but does not protect confidentiality. Keep exported copies in a location you trust. Files you save or share outside the app are handled by the service or person you select; FOH Redbook does not control those copies.
If you choose to send a backup to Mountain Crest for support, we receive the information in that file. Please contact support before sending one so we can discuss what is needed.
Beta feedback
If you join a future FOH Redbook beta through Apple TestFlight, Apple may provide Mountain Crest with tester details, app and device information, usage metrics, crash reports, and feedback you submit through TestFlight. We would use that information to evaluate and improve the app. TestFlight is operated by Apple; its handling of information is governed by Apple's own policies.
Retention and deletion
Information you enter remains on the device until you change or delete it, replace it through a restore, or use the app's Factory Reset. Factory Reset removes local FOH Redbook information and user credentials from that device and restores app defaults. It does not erase backups that you exported or copies held in a device backup or another service. Manage those copies where you saved them.
Because Mountain Crest does not keep a server copy of app content, we cannot directly access or delete that content for you. For information you have emailed us, contact privacy@mountaincrestsoftware.com.
Changes and contact
We will update this page and its effective date if the app's privacy practices change. For questions about FOH Redbook privacy, email privacy@mountaincrestsoftware.com. Mountain Crest Software, LLC is based in Oregon, United States.
